Policy

Special Issues & Conference Proceedings Policy

SIARE (Society of Integrated Academic Research and Education) publishes peer-reviewed conference research through a structured proceedings model. This policy defines the framework for conference proceedings, thematic collections, and limited special issue formats within the SIARE publication ecosystem.

All publications must align with SIARE’s conference-driven model, ensuring academic quality, editorial oversight, transparency, and compliance with ethical publishing standards.

Applicable to all SIARE proceedings, conference collaborations, and thematic collections

Conference-Based Model

Publications originate from approved academic events.

Editorial Governance

Final approval rests with the SIARE Editorial Board.

Structured Review

All papers undergo formal peer review.

Ethics & Integrity

Strict compliance with research integrity standards.

1. Policy Scope

SIARE Proceedings primarily publishes peer-reviewed research originating from SIARE-sponsored or affiliated academic conferences. The platform is designed for structured conference proceedings and does not operate as a traditional journal publishing independent guest-edited issues.

All Special Issues or thematic collections must remain aligned with the conference-driven publication model and under SIARE governance.

2. Publication Model

SIARE follows a consistent publication framework across all proceedings:

  • Papers originate from approved academic conferences or scholarly events
  • Manuscripts undergo structured peer review
  • Editorial Board provides final approval
  • Accepted papers receive DOI assignment
  • Content is published via AcademicProceeding.org and SIARE Digital Library

For life sciences and related disciplines, compliance with ethical approvals, informed consent, and institutional guidelines is mandatory.

3. Eligible Publication Formats

3.1 Conference Proceedings Volumes

Standard proceedings containing peer-reviewed papers presented at approved conferences.

3.2 Thematic Conference Collections

Curated collections derived from specific tracks, workshops, or symposium themes.

3.3 Conference-Linked Special Collections

Limited special collections arising from conference extensions or affiliated academic programs, provided they follow the proceedings model.

4. Exclusions

SIARE does not normally accept:

  • Standalone guest-edited special issues unrelated to conferences
  • Commercial or sponsored collections without academic oversight
  • Collections lacking structured peer review
  • Submissions accepted without editorial validation
  • Proposals bypassing SIARE governance

5. Proposal Requirements

Proposals must include:

  • Conference details (title, dates, organizers)
  • Scope and alignment with SIARE series
  • Scientific committee and editorial team
  • Expected submission and acceptance volume
  • Peer review methodology
  • Publication timeline
  • Ethics and integrity safeguards

6. Governance and Editorial Oversight

Conference Role

  • Manage submissions and initial screening
  • Coordinate peer review
  • Recommend papers for publication

SIARE Editorial Board

  • Verify quality and compliance
  • Review peer-review integrity
  • Request revisions or clarifications
  • Grant final publication approval
Conference acceptance does not guarantee publication.

7. Peer Review Requirements

  • Independent and qualified reviewers
  • Documented reviewer feedback
  • Revision tracking and validation
  • Retention of review records

Review models (e.g., double-blind) must follow the policy of the respective proceeding.

8. Manuscript Standards

  • Original and scholarly contribution
  • Proper formatting and metadata
  • Accurate authorship and affiliations
  • Complete declarations and permissions
  • Language and presentation quality suitable for publication

9. Ethics and Research Integrity

  • No plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Conflict of interest disclosure
  • Accurate authorship attribution
  • Ethical approvals where applicable
  • Permissions for third-party content

SIARE may investigate concerns and suspend publication if integrity issues arise.

10. Acceptance and Publication

Publication requires successful completion of both:

  • Conference-level peer review
  • SIARE Editorial Board approval

11. DOI, Hosting and Visibility

  • DOI assignment for all accepted papers
  • Publication on AcademicProceeding.org
  • Integration into SIARE Digital Library
  • Metadata preparation for indexing

12. Series Alignment

Each submission must align with the appropriate SIARE proceedings series (e.g., Engineering, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, etc.).

13. Transparency and Documentation

  • Submission and review records
  • Acceptance and revision tracking
  • Ethics documentation
  • Final approved manuscript list

14. Corrections and Retractions

Post-publication actions such as corrections, withdrawal, or retraction are handled according to the Corrections & Retractions Policy.
